Foundry Court, home to Cornwalls best coffee...

Pretty tasty coffee.

Cantuccini biscuits. Beautifully presented.

Smoked Paprika, a remarkable ingredient.

Garlic grown on the Isle of Wight.

Americano, hot water with a shot of espresso. Invented for Americans in Italy who couldn't handle espresso... hence the name.

Hugo winning the 2008 UK Barista Championships at Hotel Olympia, February 21st 2008. Hugo, the resident Barista at Relish Food & Drink, is the 2008 UK Barista Champion. Over three days of crazy competition in London's Excel centre in Docklands, as part of Hotelympia,  twenty four of the UK's best baristas competed for the title.
Hugo will be jetting off to Copenhagen in June to represent the UK at the World Barista Championships where the top baristas from 50 countries will compete for the ultimate coffee prize. Last years UK champion James Hoffmann went on to win the world championships in Japan. Hugo's chances are rather slimmer...
Rest assured he still prefers making coffee for his customers in Wadebridge, they're far less demanding (mostly), far more important and they pay for it!

Cornwall Tourism Awards 2007, Bronze award in the Cafe/Popular restaurant award.21st November 2007. At a thoroughly posh black tie dinner at Newquays Headland Hotel, Relish Food & Drink were awarded bronze in the Cafe/Popular Restaurant category of the 2007 Cornwall Tourism Awards. This we're rather chuffed about as it is our first year of trading.
We shared a table with, amongst others, the wonderful Steve & Sarah Skinner, owners of Cornwalls coolest brewery who won an award in the Cornish distinctiveness category..
The winner of our category, two other categories and winner of winners was the Headland Hotel itself... the awards host!

UK Barista championships 2007 southwest regional heat winner.14th November 2007....Hugo, Relish Food & Drink's resident Barista, won the South West heat of the UK Barista Championships 2008, narrowly beating Tristan Stephens from Fifteen Cornwall. With a little luck  both scoring enough points to get through to the UK final at Hotel Olympia in February. Roll on a Cornish 1 - 2 in the finals!

And we won it last year....."Here's the best coffee in the West..." Cornish Guardian February 2006

The Soil Association Organic Food Fortnight, 1st - 16th September 2007. Relish Food & Drink took part in Organic Fortnight, organised by the Soil Association. This was an interesting exercise in sourcing local organic food to produce a fully organic breakfast menu. Though a challenge we managed to keep our whole breakfast menu, thanks mainly to using a lot of organics anyway! Additional help came from the nice folk at Organic Southwest.
